Today’s Garden Center Announces
2009 Revolutionary 100 Awards

WILLOUGHBY, Ohio, Jan. 12, 2009 – Today’s Garden Center magazine announced its annual
list of Revolutionary 100 garden centers in the United States as part of its Revolutionary 100
Awards program today.
Sponsored by Activant Solutions, Bayer Advanced, Goldsmith Seeds and Nexus Greenhouse
Corp, the program, now in its fourth year, surveys garden center owners and managers and
culminates in a listing of the 100 most revolutionary garden centers in the nation. It is open to all
independent garden centers, large and small, and is based on leadership and innovation, not on
size or revenue.
“The garden centers we are honoring this year have demonstrated excellence and unique
innovation in marketing, retail business practices, and outreach to employees, customers and the
community,” says Richard Jones, Group Editor of Today’s Garden Center. “We are honored to
recognize them for their achievements and present them as role models for the industry.”
The magazine also announced the five regional winners from the 2009 Revolutionary 100 Awards
program. The national winner will be announced in the February issue of Today’s Garden Center.

Garden center owners and managers across the United States competed by covering topics such as employee training, industry involvement, profitability, marketing strategies, use of technology, purchasing, and customer and community service. The entrants are ranked according to a point system, and the 100 top entries make the list. The award ceremony will take place during the Revolutionary 100 Roundtable, February 25-27, 2009, in Atlanta, Georgia. More information on the Revolutionary 100 including the complete rankings can be found in the January issue of Today’s Garden Center magazine and at www.TodaysGardenCenter.com.
